First, Jerry was released today, and he and Donna and a bunch of their
family from out of town spent the evening here. They are both holding up
a
lot better than I expected. There were a lot of emotions at seeing Joy
and
Sass (in both directions), and more tears for those who didn't make it.
I
think they were, in general, just glad to be out of the hospital
atmosphere.
We have a temporary place for them to stay for the next week, and they
are
settling in there this evening.
Tomorrow they will meet the insurance folks at the house, and that
process
begins...

From what I hear, Gage and Jubille are having a very fun time at Donna
Jaccard's, and Caleb and the pups are settled in quite nicely and their
co-owner's, Jackie Delaney's. Donna Jaccard and Sybil Adams were such
enormous emotional and physical assets over the weekend. Those are two
women I'd sure want in my corner if I ever found myself in a crisis
situation!! They are awesome women!!! Donna and Jerry are both so
grateful
to everyone.

Chord underwent surgery today to remove all the dead tissue from his
skin.
He came thru surgery just fine. Apparently he has become very popular at
the Vet School, as he has the sweetest disposition of any dog, and he now
has quite a fan club.
As I type this Donna has just finished settling Jerry into their suite
and
is on her way to UT to see him.

to
be taken to them daily - bless you Caroline.

Also, we are in the process of trying to locate a church or school local
to
their neighborhood who might donate use of a piano and a studio where
Donna
can continue to teach her piano students. For both financial and
emotional
reasons, many of us seem to think this is a high priority, as Donna's
piano
students are the light of her life (that, and her dogs, of course BG).
If
anyone has any contacts or information or ideas, please let me know...

Last, a list of dog people who I won't even begin to name because there
are
so many from here in East TN have gotten together with the manager of
PetSafe Village and are going to host some fund-raiser show-n-gos.
PLEASE
help support these if you can.
I don't have all the details yet, but I know the first one is going to be
on
Feb. 22
The basic plan is this:
Cost will be $10.00 for the first run through and $5.00 for each
additional
run through.
Registration will begin at 9:00 AM with run-throughs beginning at 9:30AM.
Petsafe will let us use the building until 5:00 if we need it.
and YES, there will be pre-novice...

If I forgot anything, I apologize, please let me know and I'll make sure
to
include it in the next mailing.

Also, if anyone has any other fund raisers they would like to do, please
let
me know and I'll pass the word along.
We have people from all over the country who have already been so
generous
with their support, and Donna and Jerry are so grateful to everyone.
They've been literally overwhelmed with all the wonderful support, and
are
so appreciative...
