• There are as many if not more cars now than at the beginning of the season.If you have been at the races you would have seen the carnage(Thornton fire,Esner fire,Wheat Intake ejection and motor meltdown on car #2,Lindsey motor toasted,Martone Rods exit one race fixed came back and spun car into guard rail hitting all four corners,Fernando and Corey wheat collide and damage both cars having to miss races,) these are just a few thing sthat have happened that have affected car count this season.It is common knowledge that fuel costs have hurt alot of these teams wallets which also keeps teams from going outside their home tracks if you will.If you are a fan you will help support the racers that you like to watch in continuing to come out and watch even in these hard times .We have been really fortunate in the years past to have as many cars able to travel as we are all so used to.I am sure you can understand that money is getting harder to come by and it affects everyone the same.read on> -- Matt Jones, 14:13:57 07/24/08 Thu
  • Sorry ran out of room.KOTH is still a class of plenty.The cars are either in repair or sidelined waiting on either the economy to change or weather for some .There is allways room for more cars and there are still several new cars @ chassis shops waiting to be finished. I am sure there will be more races where we have to cut down to an 8 car field because there arent enough cars to make it a 16 car field .I knew it was gonna be a rough year when we had the US outlaw race for $20,000.and only 22 cars could make the show.     • I'm working on mine as hard as i can, there is light at the end of the tunnel, but it is a LOT of work to build and maintain one of these cars. I am coming up on 3 years and I thought it wouldn't take more than 1 year at the most.     • I dont know if you have been watching any of the 10.5 racing this year but there has been much carnage.I know that alot of our cars are being fixed and yes I agree there were too many races booked this year we will address this issue over the winter.As far as there not being any support from any dallas cars ,Its pretty hard to quantify why or where the cars are at any given race but I do know that there are plenty of cars down in the dallas area with alot of damage and times are hard for everyone .Fuel is a big part as I can assure you we have had less cars from south Texas travel north as of late.I assure you that we cannot add any more races this season as we are finally into the hot months and we will have less racers and fans show up.Angleton can have a race if they want to but we cannot ask anymore of our racers this season. -- Matt Jones, 14:03:39 07/16/08 Wed
      • KOTH, TTT5, OTTA all need to get together and make one orginazation. Pull the resources together and make one big event. Run twice a month. Visit all the tracks in Texas alleast once. Maybe you can hit them all twice. Classes. 1) Outlaw 10.5 2) Limited Street 3) Extreme/Ultimate Street 4) True Street. Just some ideas. Heck this is the biggest state.         • I tried to suggest pulling the two groups (koth l/s and otta) together before we even got started this year. I would love to have more dallas cars running otta. We have had full fields at every event this season except one (4th of july weekend and there was 10 at that race).. • I regret to inform you that I will not be able to make the trip as I have been fighting a fuel delivery problem that has allredy burned a piston and detonated a few other pistons I am currently working w/ Speedtech to resolve the problem but as of yet we havent been able to find the problem .Hopefully I will be better prepaired with a solution by nex week but I am not sure and cannot keep going out hurting things untill I can find the problem.I have never missed this many races since KOTH was created maybe one or two a season but this is very expensive and I have to find the problem before I can continue. as for the Limited street class They will be running this weekend as well at HMP along with the Outlaw 10.5 cars.Hope to be back soon??? -- Matt Jones, 16:28:06 07/11/08 Fri
