A possible solution -- 10.5 fanatic, 09:16:30 01/24/10 Sun [4]
What about having a "Outlaw 10.5" class just the way it's been and a "10.5W" class with the people that don't want to run Outlaw 10.5 You could let the true 10.5 guys run a W tire and that would help both classes as car count has dropped in the true 10.5 class also. That would combine TT5 and the parked 10.5W cars (they run about the same times) that haven't been running. Something to think about. It would still be heads up racing without a cap.

At last change -- Outlawfan, 08:56:58 01/21/10 Thu [5]
Well at last Koth is making an effort to control this class. It took the tracks to stop booking events and for people to step down and get out of the way so koth could change. Finally a big tire backhalf class with a sixteen car field. Looking forward to seeing Thornton, Pizzono, Gold Dust and many more again.
Suck it UP!! -- Houser, 09:22:01 01/20/10 Wed [5]
Look, you dogs that don't post your names can drop dead. The bottom line is many people have mega dollars invested in cars. My wife, after I brought up KOTH today, just bitched me down that I spent all that money and have no place to race. I am probably the oldest (by age) racer in KOTH and looking at my 401K I know the economy is really bad. In times of bad economy, people can not throw money around. Shan has really good ideas and can keep us on the track. Let no one misunderstand, if Shan does not give here word, that we will come in numbers, (no matter what the out come of the vote is) NO track in DFW will book us. Pull your heads out of your ass and lets get through 2010! I ran with KOTH at 5.40 when cars were running 4.70, I ran with KOTH at 5.00 when cars running 4.50, I ran with KOTH at 4.90 when cars were running 4.40. I always qualified, made rounds and got my entry fee back plus more! I spent two years building this new car for KOTH (Yes, I did the work) only to find out the rules changed the day I finished it without NO vote. JoJo I feel for ya. Never the less we all need to suck it up and support the efforts at hand. The economy will change and we can get back to pushing the envelope. Car owners that sit back and say ME ME ME and will not support KOTH no matter the vote outcome can drop DEAD!
so who is in charge of the king of the hill now days . i see danny has fallen . is it shannon ? so have we found out these small pro mods has ran king of the hill in the gound or what ? i knew it would . what have you got on your mind shannon ? -- tony thorn, 20:19:45 01/19/10 Tue [9]
4.50 index racing ??? what a JOKE , will be he same class of cars.....the same outcome.......and the same bullshit leadership for the past few years......WAKE UP !! take a look at ANY other 10.5 outlaw ORG. , they are intending to go FAST with NO limit of E.T. , infact most talk of the 3. anything insite soon . I do hope the real racers / car owners of KOTH see that the limitations being tossed around will do nothing but create the same BORING class of cars as bracket racing is at a national event....with that said , continue with the BS limitations and expect to see this to be more of a DOWNWARD ride to nothing but a waste of time for all , good luck with the meeting , hope it goes well....and do hope there are few that see the writing on the wall for things to come with the BS being imposed .....GROW SOME BALLS AND LET OUTLAW 10.5 be OUTLAW 10.5 ........isn't that what it says at the top of this page ?????? -- NON-(current)-KOTH supporter, 18:50:28 01/19/10 Tue [4]
KOTH -- JOJO, 17:20:32 01/18/10 Mon [17]
I cant believe we are thinking about a 4.50 cap.Time doesnt stop because we think it should.Everyday something is getting faster. The same thing happened to me in the TX Backhalf. It was ok when Gaylen and GoldRush was whoopin butt.Fernando was winning too.As soon as i got my car lined out and started whoopon all the cars, the RULES changed, the class broke up into two different classes. All it is is favoritism. How can you save a class that everybody is bitchin about something.I love to compete, i didnt cry i just step my car up.People want see fast car go faster not slower.WE dont race here ,all we do is go back in forth with each other. Why cap it,just let the racer that think they cant compete go to OTP 4.70 class. That way all your 5.0,4.90,4.80,4.70 can all run togther.Since everybody is crying they could have easily been running with those guys.Shan dont make that mistake trying to make a few people happy, cause on down the road they will find something else to cry about. You will never be right as for this crap go.I am with racing heads up.I raced about five or six of the races last year, NEVER won anyone of them, BUT never cried and said change the rule to help me.All I did is get ready this year to kick some ASS.

KOTH & Danny -- Houser, 08:08:19 01/18/10 Mon [4]
There sure is allot of talk on the boards about Outlaw 10.5. Be it ORSCA, YellowBullet, or KOTH. It is my opinion the organizations have been trying to make Outlaw 10.5 into something it is not. To have any class you have to have Fans and Cars. I remember at HMP a few years back one of the best Outlaw 10.5 events run by KOTH (32 car field with a second chance race). Drivers came from all over the US. http://www.kwikkarauto.com/maxpreview.wmv The economy is not the best and has effected all forms of hobbies and entertainment. Change is something society does not like or accept with open arms, but is a necessity for survival. What would you rather watch? A 32 car field with ET from 5.00 sec - 4.20 sec or a 6-8 car field with 4.40 sec - 4.20 sec. Tracks can not afford to support class that may have 8 cars that may show up. With the mind set of the existing organization Outlaw 10.5 is dead. Danny you treated me with disrespect. I spent 2K on KOTH for you and members. I did not care that you wanted to go back to the old message board, but at least you could have called me or sent an email. You never responded to mine either. You simply want KOTH to be an 10.5 Outlaw organization and that will not work in the DFW area. You had your chance to change the rules with ORSCA and other organization and did not. This year in 2010 Outlaw 10.5 have been dropped across the board at tracks because the class has not been controlled. Yes, I commend you on a great car and driver and really enjoy seeing it run. This does not change the fact that the class has to change to exist in DFW. No one cares if you race your car with KOTH. Come down off your high horse and have fun with you car. KOTH may change, but you can race George Howard's events and many others along with KOTH.
KOTH -- Danny Humphreys, 16:25:11 01/17/10 Sun [7]
Let me just say first and foremost that I think it's good that the members are voting on which direction to take KOTH. That's the way it should be. I really hope that whatever changes are made help out KOTH.
Shannon is doing a great job trying to make this thing work and she has always been the glue that has kept things together. She has your best interests in mind and you need to be thankful that she is in your corner. She wants to see KOTH survive just like we all do.
I started racing in KOTH in 2001 and have seen a lot of changes. I got my ass handed to me on a regular basis and only managed to win one race in 4 years. But, I never once complained about the rules or whose car was faster. I just kept working on my stuff. When I saw that the Porsche wasn't going to be able to keep up, I parked it and started building a new car just to run KOTH. I sold the motor because I knew it wouldn't accomplish what I wanted to do. I thought it out carefully and selected the car that I thought gave me the best chance of winning that fit within the rules. I also carefully selected the engine combination that I thought would give me the best chance to win. It took me 3 years to build, in my garage and within my budget. I took classes to learn how to TIG weld, I read every book I could get my hands on, I carefully studied other cars to see what worked and what didn't. I talked to other racers to see what was working and what wasn't. I knew it would be tough because I would be racing against people whose cars were built by professionals and whose engines were top of the line.
I bought a used engine for $18,500 because I that's what my budget allowed. I used the blower and transmission that I had, both of which had over 200 runs on them. Again because that's what my budget allowed. All of this so I could run heads up with the baddest of the bad.
I am proud that we were able to accomplish the things we were able to this year. 4.45 first full pass on a brand new car, won 3 out of 9 KOTH races, made it to the final round in the championship race, numerous #1 qualifier, first in points, set KOTH ET record, and ran a pair of 4.26's.
That's what happens when your dedicated and willing to do whatever it takes. It's not all about money, it's about effort. You see folks, I'm a racer, not somebody who races. There's a difference.
Having said all that, if the members decide to put a 4.50 cap, more power to them because that's what they want.
If it comes down to that, I will not race with KOTH. I would rather run heads up with the ProMods and get my ass kicked than lose because I went too fast.
Do u guys want at nooish meeting next Saturday or a early evening? Or do u wanna do something like before and get otgether and bowl after we talk about it? email me and let me know I need to book something tomorrow or Monday -- Shan, 14:54:38 01/17/10 Sun [7]
Here is a thought for everyone involved......Emotions r running high for all. Lots of people have much time and money invested in their cars. There is one thought and only one that needs to be addressed here to fix this problem. Car count and what it will take to get that back up. Everything else is a small easy things to solve. So that is the only problem everyone needs to focus on a fix for. Come up with anrealitive idea to solve that problem that doesn't cost anybody (larger or small) alot of money to continue racing that will make everyone happy then all of this will be better. The ONLY thing going to save KOTH and let it continue for the years to come is CAR COUNT. The rules can always to changed as time, and the economy allow for this but if there is no KOTH in the future then no of it will be possible. -- Shan, 11:40:13 01/17/10 Sun [2]
This is stupid -- Chris Adams, 05:16:09 01/17/10 Sun [10]
All this talk is stupid, I cant believe an index class is even a consideration - I am out on index and or seperate classes ! What weight are the majority of these NOS cars ??
interesting fact -- Stephen Finstad, 17:55:37 01/16/10 Sat [3]
ORSCA had 6 points races in 2009 only 6 cars out of 29 made all of the events. they are not having this kind of negative chatter on thier forum we are better than this put your ballots down and lets find a few more places to race. the tracks will support us if we are together. we had better results than they did.
funny thing is this jeff guy complained when we went to tens back in the day. and his car still isnt running...... -- index? what a shame........, 12:45:57 01/16/10 Sat [1]
I JUST HAVE 1 QUESTION....WHO OWNS THE KOTH NAME AND WILL THAT PERSON GIVE A SHIT ENOUGH ABOUT THIS CLASS TO LET IT REMAIN TEXAS KING OF THE HILL????? -- GET REAL PEOPLE YA'LL ARE SCREWED !!!!!!, 11:01:46 01/16/10 Sat [3]

Look the fastest run last year in comp was Nick at a 4.31(blown) -- JC, 09:58:11 01/16/10 Sat [28]
The second fastest run was Darrin 4.34 (NOS)
3rd fastest Cory 4.36 (NOS)
4th was Kevin 4.37 (turbo BB)
5th was Tom 4.39 (turbo BB)
I havent talked to Shan but slowing these things down to 4.50?!?!? I dont think so! If this Happens Guess Ill be in for some long hauls to go race somewhere else! I didnt spend the last 4yrs and 200K in to building a index car!!! Thanks but no thanks!
Okay I sent email about meeting with vote sheet if u have been a member and r interested in racing again this year and didn't get please email me and I will send it to u. Effective immediately, I am resigning as leader of KOTH. I will be sending an email to all members regarding this along with a link to a password protected forum for members only to determine the direction and continuance of KOTH for 2010 and into the future. I will be racing and continue to support KOTH in 2010, however for business reasons, I do not have time to run this organization.
