The woman steps off the mare and leads her quickly to a wash stall and quickly untacks her. Then taking cool water,dumps it over the mare. She rubs her down with several towels."There you go Tillifien. Dost this suit thee?" Pats the mare and gives her a carrot and slips on a silver halter and leads her to a stall fit for a princess' horse. The woman unsnaps the leadrope from the mare and walks away to the castle. The mare watches the door long after her master had gone. She nickers quietly,feeling alone,for her master was her only friend on their hard run...
