- Hi Alvin -- Randy Tipton, 04:40:08 11/09/05 Wed [1]
I just stopped in to say hello and wish you all well. Some of you may not remember me since I left Alvin in 1981. Rhonda (Veltman) Myers found me and sent me an email. It is very cool to come here and see the names of all my childhood friends. I've thought about you all often over the years. Wow so many memories are coming back to me now. It's amazing. I hope you are all doing great. :)

- Class Reunion -- Carolyn (Beckemeyer) Farmer, 02:50:10 02/22/05 Tue [1]
Hi ALVIN HIGH!!
Well just to catch everyone up! I left Alvin High before I graduated there and went to Alabama (I was dragged there kicking and screaming)and then I wanted to go live with my dad in Calfornia where I graduated at Valley High in Sacramento. I married when I was 19 and had a beautiful daughter, Heather. She graduated from High School in 2004 and has been in beauty pageants since she was 3 weeks old winning several titles including Miss America Baby at age 3 weeks and Miss Teen USA placing in the TOP 10.Bragging .. I know. I married my second husband in 1989, meeting him in Florida. We have been married since 1989 and we have two boys, T.J. is 15 in May and is just over 6ft tall. He talks on the phone more than my daughter did! Clint is 13 in June and the little lady's man. My husband just got home this Thanksgiving from serving his country over in Bagdad Iraq and we should be retiring in two years. I have my degree in Medical Assisting, but have chosen to teach children and have taught children for 20 years. Well you can get ahold of me at CarolynFarmer@adelphia.com

- Reunion -- Amy Logue Cheatham, 02:09:38 07/29/04 Thu [1]
It was great seeing many of you at the picnic; just wish I could've made the evening affair. Yes, time has flown by and to me it still seems like yesterday that we were running through the halls of 'ole AHS. Lisa James - You really brought back some funny memories that I will never forget (HOC)!!! I married my high school sweetheart (Jeff) and we will celebrate our 20th anniversary next year. We have two children; our daughter, Madison, is 17 and our son, Rowdy, is 12. We have been living in Corpus Christi (Calallen area) for the past 19 yrs. and I love it. I work for an independent oil and gas company doing drafting and love that too! I'm sorry that I didn't get to see everyone and hope to make the evening affair next time around. Take care everyone and let's keep this website going!

- Great Reunion -- Stephanie (Harvey) deJongh, 13:49:16 07/27/04 Tue [1]
The reunion was great!! - alot of fun and a great job done by all those who worked so hard to put it all together. It was great seeing those people I haven't seen since high school - some I didn't even recognize. I also didn't have enough time to visit with everyone I would have liked to. Twenty years sure has gone by in a blink of an eye. I don't know about any of you - but if I could do it all over again, I would definitely do alot of things different!! If I could be the person I am now - back then.
I am currently a Reg. Nurse working in the ER/Trauma Center and a Sexual assault nurse examiner certified by the State. It's a bit stressfull to say the least! I am looking for a new career!! There are a lot of "issues" with nursing. Give me some ideas!
Anyhow, I'll have my 20th wedding anniversary this year too. I have 3 kids - 2 girls, 19 and 14, and a son 9. I also have a soninlaw 20 and a grandson 2. I love my family - they are the best! We still live in Alvin. I guess this is where we are supposed to be.
It would be neat to keep the website going! Great way to stay in touch!!

- Can't make it... -- Scott Friday, 11:41:50 07/21/04 Wed [1]
Howdy,
Lemme see here... Spent a few years at Alvin Community College, then a few more at Texas A&M to get an Aerospace degree, then a few more in Los Angles to get a Law degree. Nine years of higer education under my belt I decided to enter the "real world". Met my wife in '89 while co-oping for Lockheed in Clear Lake before graduating from A&M in '91. Spent two years getting the Law degree from Southwestern University School of Law. Lived through the riots and a few good sized earthquakes. Moved back to Texas in '93, took the BAR exam and got my license. Then I started working as an engineer with my Dad here in Huntsville. Got married in '95. Got into motorcycling in 99 and am horribly addicted. First kid is on the way and due Dec. 8th.
I now spend much of my time and effort organizing motorcycle rides and trips. I run a small tour company on the side, Backroad Motorcycle Tours, http://backroadmotorcycletours.com/ I also run a web forum for Texas riders called Two Wheeled Texans, http://twtex.com/ We have over 800 members. I spend a lot of time writing ride and trip reports for all the different events we do. You can see them, along with pics of my ugly mug, in the Story Telling Tire Kicking forum on the TWT site. My username is Tourmeister.
I have not kept up with a single person from our graduating class. Terrible, I know. But reading over that long list of names on this site really brought back memories. I have no clue what I've done with the senior yearbook so I can't look up the faces. I've always been bad with names but seldom forget a face and need help connecting the two. Isn't the memory the first thing to go??
Unfortunately, I only found out about the reunion this week. I will be leading a large group ride out into East Texas starting Saturday morning and will not be back until late that evening. I've tried to think of a way to make it but I just can't back out and leave everyone hanging.
I still live in Huntsville with Beth. Her folks live in Alvin so we get down there several times a year. Amazingly, I have never run into anyone from high school in all the times I've been down there running around town. Not long ago, I spent a few minutes wandering around the campus after hours. I scarcely recognized a thing. Most of the old familiar buildings have been torn down and replaced. It is much the same with the town. Nothing makes you feel disconnected from your roots more than revisiting them and seeing how much everything has changed.
I hope everyone has a great time. I truly wish I could join you to hear about all the things you undoubtedly have been through in the last twenty years. It blows my mind to think many of you have kids in high school!! I'm still trying to decide want I want to do when I grow up?!
So... has anyone else noticed that the years seem to be getting shorter and going by faster and faster...?
Feel free to drop me a note at scott@sfriday.com
Adios,
Scott Friday

- 20 years? -- Mark Iacampo, 08:22:17 05/07/04 Fri [1]
Wow! Time flies when you're having fun! I sure don't feel 20 years older. Unfortunately, we'll not be making the reunion. Currently, I live in Japan. My wife and I work for the Department of Defense. She teaches elementary school to Military kids, and I do whatever odd jobs I can pick up. :^) In July we'll be moving to the Bavaria district of Germany.
We've got a ton of pictures from our time over here (2 years) posted on this site. http://groups.msn.com/japanadventures
Feel free to check them out. I guess I should explain about some of the odder ones. (notably, a bunch of people in medieval armor hitting each other with sticks.) We belong to an International medieval recreation group comprised of about 40,000 members who study the middle ages by learning and trying out there arts, sciences, etc. Kinda like those Civil War reenactors you see everywhere, but medieval instead. Oh, yeah, and our battles are not predetermined like Civil War battles, but are actually fought as a sport using wooden weapons and your own skill. I have fought in real castles around Europe, and have participated in these events on 4 continents.
I've had some interesting jobs over the years, my favorite being a stuntman in an Old West town where everyday I was beaten up, shot, and blown off of buildings with dynamite. I lived for seven years on the rim of the Grand Canyon, and have logged hundreds of miles trudging down its depths. I have had four kids books published, and a host of short stories, articles, and features in magazines, newspapers, and websites.
We have no kids, and no plans to have any. (They'd probably want to play with all my toys anyway!) We'd rather hop around the world spending their inheritance! So far we've visited Italy, Germany, Great Britain (about 5 times, including one trip for 2 months!) Luxembourg, Japan, Australia, Guam, and Korea. Now that we're moving to Europe, we plan on going EVERYWHERE! Austria, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Italy, France, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands are all within driving distance!
Be on the lookout for the next website of photos from Europe!
Looking forward to hearing from everyone! My philosophy on life: The music won't last forever, so dance while you can!
Mark Iacampo

Hello Everyone... -- Theresa Stephens - Malbrough, 12:16:49 04/28/04 Wed [1]
I just got the email from Robin about the reunion..Oops, this is gonna be a long post. Can't believe it has been 20 years already.. I noticed there were a few names on the classmates list that I remembered.
I went to Manvel Jr. Hi and then onto our freshman year at Alvin Hi. But unfortunately we moved to Angleton shortly after, where I ended up graduating from, although I do have some fond memories of old friends from MJH as well..
I haven't changed much in all these years.. Married to a wonderful man, two kidos. Niki 17 and John Curtis 11, we live here in Alvin. My daughter will graduate from Alvin in 2005,and my son is in 4th grade at Hood-Case.. I didn't go on to any great career after school. Just a simple stay at home mom, since my son is a special needs child. But, I think Mom is a pretty important job..And I am an Avon Representative as well as being a partner in several home based business'..
I am not sure if anyone will remember me or not. But if you do please feel free to email me anytime.. When I was in school we lived in Manvel, right across the street from the cemetary in the mobile home.. Which is still there by the way. Right next door to another of our classmates, Steve Morrison..I've noticed some of us, myself included, didn't move to far from home..lol
Have a Blessed day..
Theresa Stephens

Hey everybody!!! -- Vicki Goodrich Huebner, 10:53:50 04/22/04 Thu [1]
Moved from Alvin to Brenham in 1985, I think. Been working at Wal-mart for the last ten years in the pharmacy dept. I'm a registered pharmacy technician. I have a wonderful husband, Steve, and a stepson, Allen, 15, who lives with his mother, and a son Matthew,7. Matt was born 2 months premmie. He only weighed 2 lbs 6 1/2 oz at birth. We've really been through it with him, but he's worth it. A real ball of fire now. We have one horse, two dogs, and a cat. Would love to hear from y'all!!! My e-mail is sixbit6@wmconnect.com.
