Dear Pageant Community:
I wanted to share with you all that I have received some very valuable advice from a great friend. The advice was to not have a coaching “group”, but to become an independent Coaching Consultant. I thought about it and have come to realize that it is the perfect concept.
The main focus of any contestant is just that…the contestant! Even though my total interest in my new coaching group was for the interest of each student, I don’t want people thinking I am taking the credit for their talents and abilities. All of these girls are winning because of their inner ability. A coaches’ job is just help pull that ability out of them. Pageantry is a hobby, which in this community, we are all crazy about. Because of this, yes we have judges to decide who has done the best in each category of the pageant. This is where a coach/consultant comes in…to help mold the skills necessary to compete on whatever level a contestant wants to compete.
Having said all this, I have decided that I will no longer have a coaching “group”, but will be an independent Consultant Coach. This will mean there will be no competing against anyone in your same “group”, no bitterness towards any other person in the “group”, and no one telling you who you can and can’t coach with outside of the “group”, because there will be no “group”.
If you are interested in this way of learning about pageantry, please contact me. I would love to work with you. Also, I teach vocal lessons and have for 18 years. There are a lot of references that can be provided to you. Thanks so much Renee Horvath
