The team I used to watch was lucky if they'd get over 300 for a game (now this was OHL but that was still a very low attendance number) but around playoff time they'd get 1600 people. Before their owner bought them he looked at the city they were in, that only seemed to care about it's NHL team and decided all they needed was a better marketing strategy. He saw the jerseys and the signs saying how the fans would miss the team and he realize that those 300 regulars were worth it. So you'd be surprised who's hidden in the wings always watching.
