B.J. Young (1977-2005)

B.J. Young played four seasons in the AHL with Adirondack and Cincinnati.
Former AHL forward B.J. Young died Wednesday in a single-car accident in Vancouver, B.C., the Anchorage Daily News reported today.

Young, 28, played four seasons in the American Hockey League after being drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in 1997. He spent two years in Adirondack before putting up 25 goals and 51 points in 71 games for Cincinnati in 1999-2000.

It was during that season that Young made his lone NHL appearance, skating in one game for Detroit.

He split the 2000-01 season between Cincinnati and Manitoba (then of the IHL), before concluding his career playing in his native Anchorage.
