YESTERDAY WAS SHOWN MISS COSTA RICA 2005, AND ONE OF THE CONTESTANTS, ROSALINA CERME�O, HALF COSTARICAN-HALF VENEZUELAN participated, but...This fact was announced to discredit her & let Costa Rican people hate her bcz she was not an original Costa Rican. They said this twice during the telecast when the Advertisement of Rosalina was played on.

Many Venezuelan journalists as well as the nationals of Costa Rica protested against the crowning of Johanna Fern�ndez, they say that the results should had been:

Miss Costa Rica: Leonora Jimenez
Miss Mundo Costa Rica: Rosaline Cermeno
while Johana was just a finalist.

According to the reports: Johana was preferred then the rest of the candidates. Well it is not so new in the pageant industry like Neha Dhupia was preferred by Femina in 2002 & she won. Just like this Johana won but Neha deserved the crown whatsoever but Johana never desrve the crown. She was given two rows in the audience as well as had the worst evening gown & was allowed to put a flower in her hair.

In the Grand Prix of beauty 2004, when points earned by each country in the current year of competition are added, the United States finished 1st, going back to the old days, when it was the unquestionable #1 pageant potency in the world. The top 10 of 2004 were:

1) United States - 93,00
2) Australia - 75,50
3) Trinidad & Tobago - 61,50
4) Philippines - 58,00
5) Paraguay - 51,00
6) Colombia - 50,00
7) Peru - 48,50
8) India - 44,00
9) Poland - 42,50
10) Dominican Republic - 38,00

BEST MOVER: PARAGUAY

Paraguay not only moved amazing 46 positions up with Yanina Gonzales incredible performances both in Miss Universe (4th place) and Miss Earth (4th place), but it has also entered the TOP 50 (in 50th place). Ecuador came in 2nd place in this category (+35), followed by Wales (+24), Tahiti (+24) and Martinique (+20).

On the other end, those who lost the most important positions this year were Slovakia (-37), Netherlands (-21), Zimbabwe (-20), Portugal (-18) and Belgium (-15).

THE BEST OF 2003

BEST MOVER - ETHIOPIA - It was a fantastic year for Ethiopia. With a 6th place in Miss World (30 points) plus a Miss Congeniality in Miss Earth (3 points), Ethiopia left the uncomfortable position it was found in the end of 2002 (0 points, 96th place) to be now in 64th place with 33 points. In addition to that, the country has entered Africa's top 10, as number 8.

The second best mover of the year was Ireland. With Rosanna Davinson's victory in Miss World, plus points from the Beach Babe and Webmasters' contests, Ireland has gained 52 points and 24 positions, having entered the top 50. Angola (+19) and Namibia (+18) follow, while Serbia & Montenegro, who had ended 2002 as 50th in the ranking, is now 35th (+15). Switzerland has risen 13 spots, and Honduras with its first grand slam victory (Miss Earth), +14.

Canada (+12), China (+11) and the Dominican Republic (+10), made some of the most important jumps of the year. Canada, for instance, went from 30th to 18th, and is now part of the 'top 20'.

Brazil has also good reasons to celebrate: up 3, this South American country is back to the top 10 'super powers' of international pageantry.

Luxembourg was victim of the biggest loss of 2003. It lost its points from Miss International 1993 and gained nothing in 2003. It has gone down 28 spots (0 points, 102nd place). Croatia, who had its Miss World 1993 points discarded and won nothing in 2003, fell from #24 to #36.

Production Theme: HOLLYWOOD "The STARS ARE OUT TONIGHT"

America's Miss Productions will host the first National Ccompetition in 2006 following the April 16-17, 2005 multi-state competition. The state competition, to be held in Baltimore, Maryland will crown a preteen (10-12), junior teen (13-15) and teen winner (16-19) for the states of DELAWARE, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, MARYLAND, NEW JERSEY, PENNSYLVANIA and VIRGINIA. There will be 18 STATE WINNERS crowned at the end of the pageant weekend. The winners will receive an exciting Prize Package and will go on to compete for the National America's Miss title with an opportunity to win thousands of dollars in cash and prizes.

EVERY CONTESTANT IS A WINNER and will receive a Participation Award, Contestant Sash, Official America's Miss T-Shirt, 3 Meals during her weekend and Gift Bag courtesy of AMERICA'S MISS PRODUCTIONS.

told my friend that the Filipino reputation abroad
for being quality service providers wasn't exactly a
huge source of pride for the country. He started to
apologize, but I said it was completely all right. The
export of human labor, which has probably overtaken
agricultural products as the country's chief trade
item, was the one thing that was keeping the
Philippines afloat. No maids, no caretakers, no
nurses, no Juan de la Cruz.

Everyone to a man or woman spoke of the many virtues
of the Filipinos, and not entirely out of politeness.
That went with much head-shaking questions about what
was ailing the country. To have such a people with
such enviable capabilities but to have fallen to such
unenviable straits, it did not make sense. I confessed
I did not know the answers, although I suspected the
fact that all those talents were being put at the
service of the world rather than (directly) of the
country might be one of them, if it wasn't the source
of the predicament itself.

The artistic talents of Filipinos particularly got
rave reviews. It wasn't just in popular music
Filipinos excelled in, it was in graphic arts as well.
One Singaporean editor told me his paper had several
Filipino cartoonists and illustrators, and the quality
of their work had brought his paper much prestige and
many awards. He wouldn't part with them for all the
world, he said, though he wouldn't say that to them or
they might immediately ask for a raise. Other
Singaporean newspapers had Filipinos as well. I said I
knew a couple of them, though most of the graphic
artists I knew were in Hong Kong.

There was one other quality Filipinos had, my
Singaporean friend said emphatically, addressing
himself to the men and women in our company over sake
in a dive in Fukuoka on a cold night. It was that, man
or woman, Filipinos were exceptionally charming. They
laughed a lot, and made friends easily. If you don't
watch out, he told the others, you'd lose your
boyfriends or girlfriends to them. Or you'd end up
being their boyfriend or girlfriend. One Filipino man
in fact became the subject of a recent scandal in
Singapore, as two well-known Singaporean women fought
for his affections.

Filipinos are very articulate as well, one Thai woman
told me. You notice, she said, that they're the ones
who're very active in conferences, along with the
Indians.

Good question: Given the talent, what in God's name
has happened to us? The only thing worse than being
poor all your life is being rich once and now being
abjectly miserable. That's the thing that truly cuts
to the quick.

Miss India's chance in Miss Universe 2004 is a big question mark. The way I see it, Indian delegates are getting shorter and shorter. Maybe international judges are tired of seeing Indian beauties in major international competition. Last year's Miss India Universe failed to be included in the top 10. It was the first time since Madhu Sapre introduced her country to the universe.

What is the craziest thing you have ever done?
After a huge rain shower at a church camp, a friend and I decided to go mud sliding. There was a low-lying dirt area which collected the rain and turned the dirt completely into mud! By the end of the afternoon, we were not only cold and looking like swamp creatures covered in mud, but we had managed to include most of the camp in the muddy experience while having a crazy, great time!

Being considered a role model by a coach whom I consider to be my role model! In eighth grade I played basketball for this amazing coach who inspired me to be the best I could be. I have always remembered it and years later he chose me to help him coach his team because he thought me to be a role model for those girls. It made me feel so special to know that someone for whom I have so much admiration thought I could be a positive influence on the lives of young girls.

What is the most important thing you want people to know about you?
While I consider myself to be your average "All American girl," I also want to be seen as a representation of what our country's diversity is all about. Multiple blends of cultures and nationalities make America a unique country, and without my own Russian heritage, I would not be the unique person I am today.
