.orbs glaze over with quiet rage in spite of his efforts to control his anger.this had all gone on too long.though he felt like he had to do something, the was not much that he could do.he felt helpless and useless, despite his polished fighting skills and political knowledge.he spoke softly, evident despair in his voice.

His inner turmoil was witnessed by the mare, her features impassive. She knew what it was to wrestle with thoughts, emotions, and urges so she let the battle rage without interruption. As words were uttered from his lips, she tilted one thorn in his direction, her banner idly flicking against tarnished flanks. The desperation in the voice of the stallion was almost tangible, forcing Elven to meet his gaze. However, his question nearly floored her. Where had that come from?

Now wasn't this odd? Here she had been planning on spending her life alone and suddenly she was faced with a proposal. An unexpected proposal at that. The vixen studied his features, praying that she hadn't hurt him.
