Estelle was my grandmother's cousin. We are descended from Levi Hurdle's sister Serena Hurdle Monroe. The Hurdle family settled in Alexandria, VA after the Revolutionary War, and many are buried there. Estelle did live for some time after 1930. Whenever she visited the Washington, DC area she would visit her Hurdle/Monroe cousins. My mother (1917-2000) remembered her well and often spoke of her.
