can anyone help please i am trying to find out more about my grandmother who was a music hall artiste at some time between 1900 and 1920. She was 15 in 1900 and i know she took part in the strike in 1906, Her name was Elizabeth Harriet Maskal (or Maskel)

I can't find any reference but she may have used a stage name. She worked at some time at the Holborn Empire

What i DO know is that she dressed in a suit with her hair under her hat while she sang, then she'd take her hat off and the audience would shout "my God, it's a woman" which became her cachphrase. She also did a circus act dressed as a cow girl with a whip.
