The Bassano portrait was on a postcard and indeed it was this item that caught my eye in the first place. It is quite stunning and looks almost pre-raphaelite in style. Looking at it, it looks as though it was taken at the same sitting as a colour plate shown in an article of the Strand magazine from 1907 entitled 'Beauty and the Camera'. I actually have a copy of the postcard, the colour plate and the article. Hopefully you can now see my email address (not sure how these threads work).

With regard to her appearance of 'The Dollar Princess' in New York, well I may have got my facts wrong. All I know was that production was transferred to New York cAugust 1909, so I may have jumped to conclusions.

It was that Bassano photograph that drew me into trying to find out more, but the lack of information regarding her biography, career,what became of her etc makes it quite a challenge. I suppose I should get out more!!lol
