Tonight simply was a disgraceful, shocking, awful, dismal, pathetic, and whatever other word you can think of, performance., not as much in the first half, but especially in the second half.

What was going on with the players and tactics? Why did we make Macclesfield look like Brazil? Why were Macclesfield allowed as much time as possible on the ball? Why were they allowed to pass the ball from end of the pitch to another without a sniff from our players? Why was nobody trying to close their players down apart from the smallest man on the pitch, in Shuker? Why have we stopped playing this so called ‘attractive’ football and Simpkins and Evans especially have reverted back to the old ‘hoof and hope’ philosophy? Why did we not have any width AT ALL and Macc had acres of it?

Why oh why oh why are Griffiths and Simpkins being played when there are 2 more than suitable replacements in Grand and Doughty. Tonight, Griffiths had problems kicking the ball, standing up, heading the ball and tackling. Simpkins had problems with marking, passing (on the ground), tackling and commitment/passion. Griffiths especially was a disgrace and an embarrassment to the football club, Simpkins simply played to what we have come used to. McEvilly was a disgrace, I think he must have some issues with Buckley that need sorting, he was not trying or didn’t even look like he cared, I think he was doing his McCourt impression. Why was Brennan not taken off, when on Saturday (that’s hoping, sorry praying, that his loan is not extended,) Strachan and McClare will be in the middle, most probably? Admittedly he had a better game than usual, but he was still very poor.

This French fella is simply, IMO, a different class. His awareness to set up Shuker for his goal was fantastic, he never stopped running and has phenomenal pace, his foot work was brilliant and him and Connor up front seems to be a very exciting prospect. Some of the passes he was trying to get through to him were simply too clever for, Bertos especially, to make. Shuker also had a good match, never stopped trying and was all over the place trying to be everywhere at once to make up for the sloppy play from the others.

Buckley has got to swallow some pride and drop Griffiths, Simpkins and McEvilly and also Brennan (who should hopefully go) He needs to give the majority of the players a good kicking and tell them to pull their fingers out of their arses and start to be footballers.

If anyone disagrees with me, please try and explain to me how, because tonight was bordering on some of the horror shows from last season, as tonight we deserved to be deducted points for disgraceful performance.
