I know there are other options available, but given that Gary Jones isn't playing for Barnsley at the moment, is it worth an enquiry about perhaps bringing him back to Spotland? MBE knows what he can do, and with performances like last night's, we can't afford to let things like his row with the Chairman get in the way.
If his wages rule out a permanent deal back home, (though perhaps we could come to some sort of deal with Barnsley on that one) then maybe a loan deal to bring him back as soon as Don Brennan's month is over.
I know all the stuff about never going back (we were happy for MBE to come home) but in Jonah, we've got a midfielder who'll be up and down the park all day long, can score goals, and could be a perfect partner for McClare. Furthermore, given we know what he can do, and MBE knows what he can do, he wouldnt be the gamble that other midfielders would be.
I also noticed that Ernie Cooksey played for Oldham reserves. If he's not getting 1st team football, perhaps we could get him on a short term deal.
