Hi Guys And Gals
You need to ask your self a question.
What happened to the best club in the midwest?
Did Gas Prices Hurt?
Why do we travel so far to fish?
What happened to tournament bass fishing?
Bass boat sales are down 50% .
Tell me what you think?
Tom

Tom
I think gas has alot to do with it. the BFL seemed to be down by 25% the last 2 years. We have pretty much had the same lakes on the schedule since I have been a member, But to keep up with rising cost perhaps we should consider moving the regular club events closer with multiple events on the Cal Sag and 1 or maybe 2 travel within the 100 mile radius(Shafer, Wolf,Illinois River,Lake George) But as far as the Classic I still like the fall event at a large body of water so we can spread out for 4 days of fishing and vacation.

See ya guys on the water, George Osha

Tommy, tell us the real reason that you like to fish smaller waters close to home. Is it because your partner is too tight fisted to put more than a ten dollar bill in either fuel tanks???LOL

Love ya brother.

>What happen to the club. GREED. It was all about the money and nobody that wanted to help. It was fun the 1st couple of years than everybody wanted to win more money. It was a good playing field when we had the 40 miles max. But everybody had to show off the boats, so you took that away.
What happen to the show and tells (learn to fish). That is gone. You ask somebody what they caught it on (after the tourny) and you would of swear you would of ask them for the keys to Fort Knots. I fished most of the tourny the 1st 3 years and only cash once. You did not here me complain, but if some of you don't cash, you say I am not fishing in this lake anymore. Go back to the basic, like it was when we 1st started.
Hopefully if I can get a new boat/and or partner I will be back next year. But I cannot make the meetings.
Larry

Thats why we lost a few members. Good point Larry. This club has become a circuit the fun hasn't slipped away completly. I still fish for "shits and giggles" but I'm not sure if everyone does.

>Hey friends, the club is self destructing because of EGOS AND GREED. What happened to that nice friendly club with the aluminum boats, thats when the club was at our best. Thats why many members have left, we fished for fun and for the sport, I would fish for nothing, I dont need the ego stroke to win a tourney, Im fishing to relax and enjoy fishing with my friends. Guys and gals, thats whats missing, there is no sportsmanship or fellowship, just finishing in the money is all that matters anymore. I do miss fishing tourneys, but I truly dont miss the egos, attitudes and confusion that has now taken over this club.
Bring it back to the way it was in the first four years, and Ill be back as will others, keep it as is and this club will self destruct.
