Please do not touch or drain the pus from a black-headed boil. Currently, MRSA has been attacking many communities and doctors are reluctant to inform patients just how serious their (staph) infection really is. Please go see your physician and ask for a CULTURE of that boil. Drainage from staph boils are EXTREMELY contagous and antibacterial scrubbing of your hands is extremly important after you touch the abcess. Wear a panty liner to keep the drainage from touching your skin. Please don't be scared to see a doctor and ask for a culture. MRSA is wide spread right now and the boils usually show up between your thighs and inner labia. Antibiotics will be necessary and Keflex will not eliminate this. A strong antibiotic such as SEPTRA/BACTRIM (if the culture is positive for MRSA). Also, HIBICLENSE will be needed to wash from the neck down in a daily shower to eliminate the bacteria from your body. Other household members may also need to be treated.
