I have done a lot of lay research on the effects of radiation on HPV. There seems to be no way around the fact that radiation even in low doses can re-activate HPV infection and could trigger mutations/cancerous changes. Both ultraviolet light from the sun and ionizing cause trouble, but ionizing, such as dental X-rays, is more difficult to repair.

This is causing me a great deal of trouble due to a tooth problem. Has anyone been able to find a dentist that does ultrasounds on teeth instead of x-rays?

They have new x-rays called digital camera x-rays which emit less, but on a microbiological level, the fact that ionizong radiation hits the gene causes it to break in that split second. Repair is more difficult with the HPV gene sitting there.

Has anyone else had this issue and does your dentist do sonograms, etc?
