Hi everybody,
I just got diagnosed on Friday with vulvar cancer - squamous cell carcinoma in situ, my OB/GYN called it, and stressed that it was very non-invasive based on the biopsy.
She is sending me to a gyn. oncologist, but not even a cancer center.
I've been doing lots of research over the weekend and I don't want to go just anywhere as it seems that people have very different experiences based on where they're treated.
Here are some questions I have for you (being new here!)

1. Is vulvar cancer in situ the same as VIN 3 (seems to be based on info. online)?
2. If so, does anyone know of a cancer center that treats with aldara alone, rather than surgery?
3. If i have to have surgery, is it less disfiguring to have laser surgery or a wide local excision?
4. Are there clinics that do reconstructive surgery to help you with the disfiguring?
5. Are they likely to do a biopsy with this level of cancer?
6. If so, does anyone know of a place that does the new sentinel node biopsies?

I am temporarily living in Northern CA, so could easily go to San Francisco, Stanford, etc. But my permanent home is in CT so I could also go to Sloan Kettering in NYC, etc.
Also have friends in UCLA. My insurance will allow me anywhere.

Thank you so much in advance, friends. I'm scared to death.
and young enough to still want a great sex life.
