But consumers are buying fewer computers in favor of mobile devices now. Even as Dell tries to embrace that future by selling tablets, it’s sabotaged those efforts by remaining in bed with Microsoft at a time when Microsoft hasn’t a clue about mobile. The only thing less popular than Windows 8 on the tablet is the neutered Windows RT on the tablet, and Dell hasn’t had any more luck selling the latter than Microsoft has.
