Subject: Not What It Used to Be

Turns have passed since F’lar and Lessa’s time. Thread is supposedly gone forever, and yet the Red Star still throbs deathly red in the skies above. But the Holds, major and minor alike, have turned their backs on the Dragonriders. Tithes no longer come to Fort and Southern Weyr. But the creation of Isle Weyr has gone unknown by the Weyrs and Holds of the North.

Despite the lack of Thread, new colors began to emerge in ever growing clutches. Topaz, Peridot, Onyx, Bloodstone, Fire, Ice, Agen, Spect, all new colors with unique identities to each. The Dragonriders had to question themselves as the new colors arrived.

Does this mean Thread will fall again? Could we use these new dragons to aid in convincing Holders and Craftsmasters? Do these talents mean that the coming Pass will be long and harsh?

While Fort and Southern worried themselves with convincing the Holds and Crafthalls, Isle Weyr prospered, unconcerned by the happenings on the mainland. Isle Weyr prospered, it’s only contacts that of Southern Weyr.

Division is like it has never been before…Pern is divided…it’s not what it used to be…
