Date Posted: 09:09:47 07/06/07 Fri In reply to: Knapavalley 's message, "Children with an unbeliever" on 17:46:24 07/05/07 Thu Hello, Good question. Marrying an unbeliever is forbidden in Scripture. "Be ye not unequally yolked together with unbelievers." Your first responsibility, as a Believer is to serve Christ, by yielding to God. As a parent, you are to raise your child up in the fear of the Lord. Are you living with him right now? The Bible instructs us to depart from evil. Living in sin is never an option. Flee from sexual immorality. It is a sin against the body. As Christians, we are called to serve the Lord Jesus-- allowing the Holy Spirit to work in and through us-- and not to live in sin. Now, if your boyfriend receives Christ as Lord and Savior, then there is no reason why you two could not be married but until then, biblically, there is no other option but to flee fornication. Also an unbeliver must come to Christ for no other reason but to be saved from his/her sins. Many men pray sinner's prayers "to get the girl" to marry him but this is not a genuine conversion. One must receive Christ for the right reason... because they know they are utterly lost. Please read and print this article for your boyfriend to read: http://www.geocities.com/cobblestoneministries/JesusDiedForUS.html Without knowing the details of your situation, that is all that I can help you with... from a biblical standpoint. Please read the following article for further insight: http://www.bible-truth.org/FAQ-Marriage.html#004 We will be praying for you. If you have any further questions, please feel free to post anytime. >What is the right thing to do? If you are not married >and have a child with an unbeliever?
