I want to share an idea with you that I had a few months ago, and seeing its in the same line as this tournament idea, its quite relevant:

I thought about a tournament for someting, anything (i.e deathmatch champion, IR title, no.1 contendership etc) and I thought that in the end it might wind up with barely enough peolpe in it to do a tournament. So I thought how about this style of brackets (if that happens):

one vs one
one vs one
one vs one

followed by a final triple threat for the crown.

Thats my idea if we only end up with a few people rather than many, but hopefully that won't happen and everyone and their mamma will show up for a peice of dune.
