Incisive is the last word I would to describe it. He begins talking about materialism vs. immaterialism then shags off for paragraphs rambling about his "not impossible" visions of Heaven, Hell and Purgatory. His visions are not imaginative in the least -- they are all ripped off from literature. True, he puts it humorously, but I spent more mental energy trying to figure out what his point was than contemplating the point itself. Come to think of it, I still don't know what the point was, and whatever-it-was could have been put far more simply. If wants to discuss immaterialism vs. materialism that's great. He can do that by sticking to the logic and references he used in the first paragraph. I was following him with interest until he slurred off into Dante's Inferno and other acid dreams ...
