Check this:

"...that doesn't mean that the U.S. and political democracy can't come away with an improved global environment based on what is going on in Iraq right now ..."

You fukking cunt. "improved global environment" equals one in which the values of the YOU ESS A are foregrounded.

And: "I'm rarely interested in existential conversations about the nature of things that we can't avoid". Well, fuck me, firsty, but existential conversations must always address, ultimately, the one avoidable fact of existence.

Posted by Firsty McWords&Such (firsty) hat is going on in Iraq right now. If that were impossible, we might as well just give up now. We have to try to make the best of a bad situation.

I wish that war didn't exist. But I'm rarely interested in existential conversations about the nature of things that we can't avoid. It's better, I feel, to waste time talking about how to realize an ideal, or at least very optimistic, resulting reality. Peaceniks, who see the world as a vacuum for idyllic utopia, are just as worthless as hawks, who see the world as a conquerable thing. And nobody likes being worthless
