He returned, a bowl of soup in hand. Dashell smiled, eyes glittering almost warmly at the expression on the boy's face. Fear would fade eventually, necessity would see to that.

"Soup." He held the bowl towards the boy, noting the amber eyes and gentle features. Then he set the bowl on the table across from his student and began moving about the room, watching what those who had finished their meals were doing.
