The cries of children. Screeching across seemingly endlessly, without losing power, to the ears of the parents. They would always be there they said. Would always care for them, they promised. So the parent would kneel down to the child, hold them tightly to their chest and let the child weep from the nightmare they just had.

A brief shadow of the world the parents lived in, hiding it being veils of happiness and joy, yet all the while realizing the reality of it all.

Yet, behide the parent, behide their shoulders, just barely outside that veil, it lurked. Like a beast, hungry and desiring only to ravish that which protected that precious lil child. The shadows seemed to twist, dancing as the red eyes blazed, then vanished.

The nightmare was the same for countless children, night terrors it was so claimed by many. The children could sense the recent troubles, The Escalvone leaving, and more disturbing matters at hand, as the towns folk spoke quietly in groups.

" But the veil has been lifted for me. " He said quietly , as the darkness grew , the sun trying vainly to fight against the coming void , but the eternal battle , Fate itself, would always let darkness prevail for a time.

His black wings stretched out it seemed to infinity, as he slowly sat upon the highest tower of Hogoromo. He rested easily, his arm wrapped around the pointed spear that seemed to stretch defiantly toward the heavens. Here he rested, looking all the world a damned cupid as his red eyes blazed.

" The veil no longer rests upon these young eyes, I see the truth of it all. Alone, we are all alone, and that...that is the greatest of all the hells. " He whispered, to no one, to himself. His entire form shaking briefly as if having a fit, muscular spasms almost taking him away from his perch as he held on tighter, throwing himself against the steel as he sought his breath.

He clutched to it, the child to its mother, a man clinging desperately to his sanity as he slowly looked down into Hogoromo, blood ranning down below his eyes as his fingers left his face.

So he moved, gliding off as he slowly landed upon stone. His body seemingly weightless as he moved like a wraith come to haunt his murderer. And his hand slowly closed upon the handle of Emillia's door in Hogoromo. Regardless if she dwells within, the door opened.

Red eyes blazing within the shadow of the night.

" I shall throw your veil off as well, Mother. " He whispered.

He bit his lip, blood running freely into his mouth as he listened intently to his generals. The room was a simple tent, large enough to hold a circus within it as various lords and generals of the Escalvone sat in the grass, their swords laying across their laps. Each discussed freely, as was custom.

More then any of them could possibly imagine had left Hogoromo's banner, and had flocked to theirs. No longer was Hogoromo praised as the followers of the Goddess, but those blessed, formerly with the shape held divine by their religion. The Dragon, Escalvone.

" We should ask Hogoromo to join us, to give us soverenity over their lands, and let the Queen step down. Most of their lands have fallen to us simply by the people denouncing the capital! " said one Lord, passionately but not yelling, using gestures and his eyes to try to gain support as a few nodded, a few frowned.

And a few had excellent poker faces.

One such man was Damuthca.

" Despite everything, we are still all Forgotten, let us not act like humans and war with each other! Too many tragic occurances have been visiting our people of late. It is the time of peace, to rebuild. To care for our people. " Said another, the two ideals have been combating as fiercely for hours like any Escalvone would in battle.

" If we take control, peace WILL reign, We will be as one, strong, unified. There have been talk of dark things within Hogoromo. Assassins, among other...things. If we take over, we can rid our people of this threat. " Was the retort, not spoken in anger, but simply stated as if mere fact.

Again and again. Attack and parry, riposte and deflect. The conversation continued well thru the night, Damuthca calmly sipping his tea as he held himself supposedly at ease. However he truly thought about Tyrsis. Wishing that circumstances were different, if Emillia hadn't named her regent for his own selfish reasons.

And then, as he knew it would, the words, as ceremony demanded.

" Warlord Damuthca, what say you? " and all the faces looked to he who held the sword that ruled Escalvone.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He woke up, silver eyes dilating for a brief moment as he threw himself up. His metallic mane streching out like a river of molten mithril as he slowly kneeled down into a crouch, his left hand resting gently upon the earth as he cast his eyes about.
" Nothing? " He mouthed, thinking the word even as he slowly moved about like a cat. The twigs and leaves not even stirring at his passing as he slowly stood back up.
" I am needed? " He whispered outloud, his eyes slowly looking up into the stars as he gazed behide him at the small shrine he had built, where he had stayed, where he had prayed.
For redemption. So long he had been the hero, but it was finally time for him to be saved. Moonlight streamed down from between the trees as the entire forest seemed to fill his being. It was that peace within the night, within nature itself. The strange comfort within you during a storm, with the wind in your hair.
He felt alive to be sure.
His muscles playing beneath his skin, his frame small, yet musculed. He had a fighter's frame, every individual part almost sculpted by the gods as he ran thru the forest. Leaving the forest within moments as his wings spread open widely , catching the warm air currents as he flew off.
Back home he thought. His silver hair streaming behide him as he bask, no glorified within the cold air screaming across his frame. He was free from all earthly bounds, and more alive then ever before. But it was now time to leave heavenly pleasure, and time to see if a certain beautiful woman had finally returned.
And to check upon a daughter.
And to chec..
He paused and laughed , his wings beating all the harder as he thought of his goals. So he left, heading across the sky as Hogoromo quickly came into view as the night passed and gave in to the day. Kami watched as the night's void changed, so majestically into the dawn. The purples and orange colors almost pastel as the painting changed with each second. Ever more beautiful did it become, transforming into , like a butterfly from the cocoon, into day.
" Zenra...Please be there. "
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The door to Emillia's door exploded, ripped from the hinges as Kenji had stood there all night. Darkness blocking out the sun to her room as the boy strolled in. The eyes empty of any mirth, any emotion at all. Six eyes blazing behide the boy and within the eyes of this child as he continued in the room.
