I was overjoyed to find this website as I am the grandaughter of Tom Bundred the founder of the choir in 1909.
Looking down the emails I was surprised to see one that I had sent to Colin Bundred in Canada !! I didnt realise that the contact between Colin Rebecca and then myself had been via this website. ( I am only very recently computer literate !!! and my kids had been doing it all for me.)
Olga my mother Tom's daughter (as my niece Rebecca has said a few emails above )is living now in Kenfig Hill. She married Rev Ffrancon Davies who was the minister at Trinity Presbyterian Chapel in the 40s.
I am wondering whether there are any descendents of the original choir up till the time my grandfather died in 1937
in the present day choir. I have Vols 1 and 2 of Abertillery in Photographs and some of the names are listed under the photographs. I have one of Tom with two brothers called Elliott and there are also Cordeys and Powell as well as others.
If any one was kind enough to respond to this I would be very grateful.
I have not yet looked in your Archive section so I dont know what is there yet but I have a bookful of n/paper cuttings kept by my grandmother Ruby who was herself the choir accompanist at one time. I would be happy to send copies of these to anyone who was interested.
I am now looking forward to listening to the recorded extracts on this website and finding out when the next concert is though I live in the south east now. Iola Davies
