"DT, what a pleasure."
it was pain that would bring him back to his senses. could ghost's not feel any virtues, any past things of human life? he would blame himself always for abandoning, or what they thought was abandoning. did they know that children went through more than they had? he was a bad father, damn him, and he couldn't help him. but dare that not betray and scorn Vaspyra, their mother, when she died by his side...non-betrayed and helpless? This was no certainty in the world anymore, and the ghost knew nothing of it. It was integrity and it was pain, abashed in sorrow in scorn. was he a waste of space? a ghost couldn't waste space; you could walk right through him....he noticed, however, that many came back to rejoice, to meet him once again, while only his children parted from his obese, Osiris-like gaze that so reflected his past Kingship and adversity.
it was nothing that could contain the sorrow and adversity that he had felt, and nothing that could compare to the children's.
"...you're not the only ones with adversity, children. you'll see, someday, that it is jealous to scorn another, when you, yourself, have been scorned upon."
was it true? damn better be. he loved everything that ever was; be god, he used to be King, and served his Darks with his heart, not his mind. Was that his downfall? It may have well been, but it was too late, and too hard to take back. Someday, they'd find out that love would overrule all, and the others would find that family ties sometimes meant nothing, and sometimes meant everything. Don't ever take for granted what is given to you, for everything in debt is to pay back. Raistlin was nothing like Osiris; full blooded shadow and grim in every aspect, while Osiris was kind, calm, and resolute in his absolution and judgements that brought sarcasm and love into the world of the darks. And Ramoth, Queen of the Lights, she went through hardships as well....what could he say to Isadora, whom he had never known? He had only sired Vaspyra's babies, and of course, Isis's, but no one else's. Who was this Isadora?
never, ever, ever, ever give up; it's too hard to let go, when you've nothing left to give.
