Nodding a brief gesture of leave-taking to his sister, he left her with their parents in favor of a lone corner in which he could sit to think about the happenings of the past few days.

His blue eyes, so like his mother's, close as if he could see better and think better in the temporary darkness of lid against eye. It almost comforted him to be alone in this darkness which he could make. This blackness in which only pinpoints of light intruded upon his cluttered thoughts and him. And them.

Releasing a breath through partly shut lips, he called silently for the voices who had left him for so long. Never had he thought he would ask for their ramblings voluntarily, but now he needed their nonsense for their soothing familiarity. Maybe, now that he was older, they would make sense. Perhaps all he had ever needed to make sense of them was experience and knowledge...perhaps....

Almost afraid that he won't have the chance to find out, he called upon them as a bull might bellow upon finding himself trapped without an exit. Though he could not reason this sudden fear, he hoped that the voices could tell him. Could they...?

We're here, darling.

Called on us at last? Good of you. Nice to be appreciated - finally.

Don't be so to him, after all, he was only a dracling when we first talked to him....

I didn't mean to be rude, Tarquin interrupted, but I didn't know what else to do. I was confused.

As well as you should have been. But we know better now. You see...we had to learn to, I'm so terribly sorry that it was at your expense....

Don't say anymore! You might just tell him everything! Not yet! Not yet!

Interrupting them again, Tarquin explained quickly to the voices the situation and discovered, without the least surprise, he found, that they already knew about the s and those involved. Leaning against one of the caverns many walls, he relaxed slowly as he and the voices discussed and argued everything and every subject thin.

(OOC- If anyone actually is reading this - I would continue, but I'm being rushed out of the library.)
