Sorry Scott, I'm new here and accidentally created a new thread instead of responding to yours! Here's what I had to say:

There are lots of places to research the questions you have, especially SEO forums and other SEO resources. You might have some luck find what you need in an SEO directory, such as AbsoluteSEO. There are many things that could influence in your rankings and it's worth your time to find out more.
