Subject: Feeling Down?!

For me, these last couple of weeks have been some tough weeks. While I'm sure there are Christians where I work, being one seems to be very unpopular. Not so much in the sense, that people are rude to you because of it or because they exclude you from their conversations. However, they won't hesitate to talk about you behind your back. For no reason at all, simply because you are a Christian. While this is nothing new or strange (in this world), when it is coupled with rampant indecent behavior (in the workplace! day in and day out); It begins to take a toll on you mentally and spiritually.

Have you ever been there...Where you've been drained mentally, physically and spiritually? Ever felt like you were in a battle, alone? If you haven't, there will come a day. To that end, I would like to encourage you with some things that have been helpful for me, not only in dealing with these feelings, but also helping me to mature from it, both mentally and spiritually.

First and foremost, Pray. (I'm sorry that this has become such a cliché, but it's true. It works.) I believe this is two-fold. We should always look/speak to the Father for restoration and strength on a personal basis. After all, Jesus did this. Mark 14: 32-34. Conjointly, have others praying on our behalf.
"When I think of the wisdom and scope of God's plan, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you mighty inner strength through his Holy Spirit"
Ephesians 3:14-16 Paul on the Behalf of the church of Ephesus

Secondly, put on the full armor of God each day as you go through life. The devil is very prevalent in this world and he often times entices people to do his will. We must be in a mindset of repelling him. Read Ephesians 6:10-18.

Lastly, listening to music that has a positive message. Sometimes you can empathize with the words of a songwriter. At times, you may find some comfort in that. Going along with this notion, I would like to leave you with my favorite song. I'm sure everyone can relate to it at some point or another.

Leaving 99
Audio Adrenaline

I'm lost and broken
all alone on this road
The wheels keep turning
but the feeling is gone
when I fear I'm on my own
But you remind me I am not alone

You say...

I'd leave ninety-nine
Leave them all behind
To find you
(For you alone)
I'd leave ninety-nine
Leave them all behind
To find you

It's dark and lonely
and the path is unclear
Can't move my feet
because I'm frozen with fear
And you say, my child, my child
I am always here, I'm at your side

I'd leave ninety-nine
Leave them all behind
To find you
(For you alone) I'd leave ninety-nine
Leave them all behind
To find you

you're never too far down
I promise you'll be found,
I'll reach into the mud,
my repay,
pursue you to the end,
like a faithful friend,
nothing in this world,
will keep me away,

I'd leave ninety-nine
Leave them all behind
To find you
(For you alone)
I'd leave ninety-nine
Leave them all behind
To find you...
to find you..

Your Brother In Christ,

Kenny B

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those who are crushed in spirit.
Psalm 34:18

He heals the brokenhearted, binding up their wounds.
Psalm 147:3
