I always thought of Giles and Chris as Gog and Magog the giants who at 'the end of days will be released from their bonds and resume their rebellions against God and manifold wickness'.

Giles will do this be being a clueless clumsmy fucker who can take neither advice nor instruction and so smashes every fucking thing. Findlay will help bring about Amageddon by persuing vague, complex and ill-considered plan after plan muttering 'correct!' under his breath when challenged thus destroying ideas, hope, imagination etc under his path by being such an obtruse thick cunt!
