Subject: Meanwood trail

Can anyone twll me, when you reach the meanwood recreation ground, which way the trail goes in order to follow the route up to Otley? Last time i followed a little sign which sent me across a bridge to the west of the recreation ground, but according to maps, the trail seems to go east to meanwood park? is there anything obvious that i should be going to? I'm running so obviously I cant really take a map with me.
