You can't get much more away from the Atlantic than that, and thanks to Lake Superior, the locks at Sault Ste. Marie, Lakes Huron and Erie, the Welland Canal, Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River, big, deep draft ships can find a way to get there from the Atlantic shores of Quebec.
