My comic-book-loving grandmother collected the coupons off the back of the paper wrappers for those little cans of Sweet Clover Brand sweetened condensed milk for many many years and never redeemed them. After she passed away my dad found a three-inch-thick stack of them in her bureau drawer. He used them to buy his first Buick back in 1949, and with what was left over, took us out for a fine Italian dinner. Whatever happened to condensed milk, anyway? Not 'evaporated milk', CONDENSED Milk. They used it at home to put in their coffee.
