Isn't it the best when we can learn things from elderly relatives? Trouble is, we're fast becoming those 'elderly relatives', aren't we? My children and grandchildren love to hear me talk about old Newburgh, especially skating at the Rec and The Polly, and all the movie theaters we had here in the city. They get a kick out of me telling them we paid 14 cents to see a movie at the Broadway or Ritz and only 12 cents at the Cameo or The Academy! They know I met Joe at the Hi-Y dance back in 1952 and started going steady with him in December of that year, but I bet they find it hard to think of us as ever being that young!
