Dates on the calender...we all remember "9/11"....12/7/41....6/6/44...what day of the week did V-J day fall ? For me it was a day that I will never forget...and not for the JOY of the occasion....I was only 12. I remember it because I was a dishwasher that night at Beech Mt. All details [work duties] were suspended by the Camp Director to celebrate the end of the war. Then someone reminded him that the dishes were not done yet...guess who was called away from the celebration and put back to work....I hated Beech Mt. because I never had any fun time...I was on "detail" all week...not because I did anything "bad"..just the luck of the draw.
