I worked in the Johnson Laundry in the mid-fifties, 15 or 16 yrs old at that time. It was the worst job I ever had, and I had many. The environment was extremly hot and moist. The non-stop pulling sheets and other flatwork out of HUGH extractors without stopping for a brake. Lunch 30 Minutes.
I ate in 15 minutes and tried to sleep the other 15. It was "Back breaking work".
