I noted in yesterday's TH-Record the obit for Joe Truncali.
Joe was the son of the owners of Barry's Store ( The former Sid's Variety) at the corner of Third and Fullerton. After his parents retired from running the store Joe operated the store.

I went to NJH with Joe. Every Thursday his Mom would make home made meatballs for the NFA lunch crowd, Joe and 5 others of us shared a lunch period that got out 5 minutes before the NFA 1st period lunch, we found that if we ran as fast as possible we could make it to Barry's prior to the large crowd from NFA, Barry would let us sit in the back room while we ate our delicious meatball subs prior to a quick walk back to NJH. I must say these were the best subs I ever ate.

Sail on Joe, you will be missed.
