最後直路上鬥得幾精彩,當時一隻先走一隻追: Westerner在last兩化郎以後其後勁,追趕一匹想先發走離的冷門馬Distinction,前駒騎師努力推騎,馬亦交出最高水準來,最後成功以一頸位力壓後駒,成為以大熱門身份今屆雅士谷金盃盟主. 另一匹有飛馬Vinnie Roe只能跑入一席無甚威脅的第三. (NT)kk/richard

    賽前聽好幾位評述員,已極睇好Westerner今場機會,有個更講"尼場係佢架啦"(he is the one),但賽事跑到最後三化郎被隻distinction先走開時,前駒形勢真係都幾驚險,因大部份stayers始終多是跑氣量同stamina,一般是步步尺七而欠加速力. 今仗westerner這樣後追贏已顯示質素超群,騎師賽後受訪問時亦說,雖被前駒走脫但,仍空有成足好有信心終點先捉到後駒,因全程westerner都給他有很極好走勢,最後亦交出鬥志同後勁! 此馬展途六連勝後,媒體都不用至疑認為westerner是今年度全歐最佳的stayer. (NT)kk/richard
