In reply to: Shifter 's message, "Re: Greetings!" on 16:05:19 10/13/01 Sat

Sweet Matrix! People are actually replying to my question! *Whoops in joy and does a cartwheel*

I'm in an extremely good mood right now (brought on by sleep-deprivation and one too many cans of Dr. Pepper), and I just wanted to say 'Greetings all!'

Hi Shifter! I've never seen 'Mystic Knights' (I've been deprived, I know :)), and yes I'm Irish (also Scottish, Comanche, French and some other things). That's one reason why I chose the name Dierdre, that and the fact that the name means 'the raging one'. It suits me. I rarely get angry, but when I do, mountains tremble, oceans evaporate, and people flee for their lives. Yeesh! ;)

Anywho, to answer your second question; I like the original Dinobot the best. The bot was uncouth, possessed a horrible temper (like me!), and was constantly at war with himself over his Predicon upbringing, his conflicting Maximal allegiance, and his own sense of right and wrong.
He saw and lived life as it really is, not as clear-cut black and white, but in varying shades of gray. Because of this, he was never sure of the correct path to take. He often questioned his own motives and actions, and sometimes he made the wrong choices, but he dealt with things as they came to him to the best of his abilities. That's all any of us can do. He was easily the most ambiguous, infuriating, flawed, and -human- bot out of the whole cast, which is why I liked him so much. I'm not saying that I didn't find his attitude and morals exasperating at times, but I could relate to him.

TM2 DB was interesting, but he was not the original by any means. He was basically a deadlier version of Scorponok, IMHO. Intelligent enough to carry out orders, but loyal to the point of mindlessness. He was just your average psychotic evil villain, a 2D character, until the very end, when he became DB again in the Nemesis episodes. (How did THAT happen, anyway? How could he have had memories of the original Dinobot, since he was only a clone… *Shakes head in confusion*) Of course he died immediately after helping to save the world and time itself. Again. *Sniffles and reaches for a handkerchief* Now HE could have made Beast Machines interesting, but I digress…

*Blinks in surprise* I've just realized a couple of things. One, I only meant to write a few sentences (which I obviously didn't do), and two, IT'S 4:30 IN THE MORNING!!! Why am I awake? Why am I still on the fricken' computer? Why am I not tired!?! *Sighs* Ah, the joys of insomnia.

Well, I'm outta here (aren't you glad? ;)). Maybe if I re-read War and Peace a couple of times I'll be able to sleep. *Glances thoughtfully at the refrigerator* Perhaps another Dr. Pepper will help…
