Subject: Simple business application recommendation

I simply need to broadcast a Beeping sound,..and on the other end, a headphone to know when i'm out of range. Range only needs to be <1000 feet,..but,..will go through walls and misc metal piping and such.

i plan to use two handheld radio's, but,.i don't want to use FRS ( for it is business use),... any suggestions?
