Date Posted: 23:41:31 05/23/05 Mon In reply to: Caitlin 's message, "i'm moved to write after a beautiful conversation" on 23:01:36 05/23/05 Mon Have you ever read any of Tom Browne Jr's books? He writes one called the Vision, my friend read me a passage from it last night. It was so beautiful. He talks about how yes we are here to find our true selves but that when our true self reveals itself to us, like when we quiet our minds enough through time in nature or time in meditation, a duality is fulfilled for not only are we aware of the preciousness of our true self and the way it feels and how it is, pure being, but we are then able to access the spirit world and therefore have connections, as if stepping through a portal where only then and there we can communicate with our mother earth, as well as communicate with other lifeforms. The universe's other forms of being. Other beings.... Only when we quiet our mind does that door open. And once the door is opened, anything is possible. He talked about how water has its own consciousness and the healing properties of it, how enormous they are. He teaches humans how to live off the land and how simple it is once you know the basics. He has faith that we are going to heal the planet and he is on a mission to create the way. He describes how much being in water adds to our experience here. How deep that desire goes to reconnect with the water. Your post reminded me of him and of the water conversation which fascinates me and is way beyond me. Thank you for tonight's conversation. You give me a chance to experience myself that I never have. You have so muc love and approval -you give it away so freely. I love how you draw parallels with experience in the community and nature. The city and its urbanness can really take us captive, even if we are doing our spiritual work. There is so much wonderful spiritual experience in relating and intimacy and yet there is also so much wondrous spiritual experience in simply just being in nature, and i am relishing this by going to parks down here on the peninsula. And being among the Redwoods. Your intellect and curiosity and your openness, and your ability to receive, to listen so well and to be so full of nonjudgement, humility and honesty touch me. I fall in love with you over and over. I love how it feels like we could just talk and talk and talk like highschool girlfriends -that kind of way. You are a sister. You are me. You are a friend. You are a seeker in such delicate and full territories of this life. Our timelines seem to be merging. To me it seems necessary that we be friends. I have never had a friendship happen so organically. There are so many benefits... Total suspension is calling. G'nite, take good care and see you Sunday.
