Saturday was my first experience with the Insight Institute, and it was fun - at times exhilerating - and challenging. Those are all very good things. It's a long way from Morgan Hill, and a long way from where I work near the San Jose airport, but I intend to attend your events often - or at least as long as I have this much fun.

Before you say "Oh NO!", I'll promise to try to rein in my naturally argumentative and contrary nature. However, since it's a lifelong habit, and since I tend to develop stress fractures if I let a perceived mistake go unchallenged, I can't promise to keep my mouth shut nearly as much as most people would like. When I stopped attending Catholic church services I stopped believing that the pope is infallible. (Believe it or not, I actually was reining myself in to some extent on Saturday.)

An observation about the time spent on Ray: I know very little of the history behind the statements I heard, and I've been around Ray very little - just enough to understand what was said on Saturday - but for what it's worth, on Saturday at times I was reminded of a bunch of siblings unloading on a parent - - having spent years accepting the support of the parent, but now feeling the need to establish a separate identity and tell the parent about all his faults. BUT - maybe I missed the point.

I appreciated the honesty and candor that was directed at me, and I hope to experience more of it. I'm already aware of many issues that I need to deal with, but being aware of them is not the same as doing something about them - - so I need to be reminded often. Thanks for the reminders. Now -what to I do about it? (And I look forward to your helping me discover aspects of myself I'm not already conscious of.)

Thoughts about your communal group: A loving family group to live with, the chance to get focused attention from a large number of people for extended periods, plus access to stimulating sexual experiences (what about me? :>) ) - - a very powerful and seductive combination! I look forward to learning more about it. It obviously has the potential to do a lot of good.

The group gave me a very nice goodbye as I was leaving - thank you. One of the comments was something like "you look very sexy." I would, of course, love to hear more of that - - and I can't help but wonder why it was said - - a calculated attempt to prey on my male weakness to make sure I came back for another session? Or an expression of honest interest? I look forward to learning more.

As you attendees at the Saturday session know, I can ramble on forever - - but I have to sign off for now. I look forward to more stimulation.
