Its always heart rending to see someone with so much inner light being so badly hamstrung. And knowing the inevitable end should it go unchanged. I have a little story for you on the subject. Last year I met a young man about my age. Down on his luck but upbeat. He asked me out and i accepted. He was broke come date night, but as luck would have it, i had hit a couple numbers of the lottery to the tune of 12 bucks. I took us out for some fast food and we sat in my parked truck talking. Like your girls he was a vibrant soul. The way he spoke about his daughters touched me profoundly. But from his mannerisms i could tell what was wrong. I did the only thing i could think to do. I made myself available and showed him the kindness in me. He dropped out of sight with a thin excuse. I didnt hear from him for 6 months. A few months ago, an amazing thing happened. I was able to get in touch with him and he told me he was clean and out of the situations and areas that had had him in such a state to begin with.
