LeAnna could hear the band tuning their instruments as the fog continued to roll through the parking lot. Beautiful curls of gray clouds began to immerse around the storage unit. The density of the fog seemed to thin out at about four feet from the ground.
From inside the storage unit LeAnna could hear the familiar cords to an old Jim Carol tune.
She stood frozen and listened for a while.

"What a bunch of morons, Jim would be turning in his grave if he heard that shit."

Well, if he had a grave, that is. Last she had heard of Jim, he was well on his way to New Orleans. Ever since he had been turned he kept yapping about how now he had all the time in the world to fine tune his talent.

"Poor sod" She thought. "He thought he could hang on to something that only belongs to the living."

She stood silently listening to the music, She leaned over next to the body of the young man still sprawled on the hood of his car. His glassy eyes shined through the thickness of the fog. She placed her elbows on the young mans' body and nestled her chin on on both of her palms.

"Still playing with your food, I see. When will you learn my dear, that it is most unhealthy to quibble about when your dinner is getting cold."

LeAnna didn't have to turn and see who it was.

"Duncan, you old dog. What the hell are you doing here? Last time I saw you was in London, you were mucking about in an old alleyway, after finishing your supper. And as I recall it was somewhat tainted, I believe it was heroin in your dinners' bloodstream."

LeAnna let out a belly laugh that echoed across the parking lot.

"Hahaha! That's right, We had to run to the local head-shop and get poppers just to wake your ass up."

Still chuckling: "That was so cool, I was with Marshall and we had a pretty good buzz going ourselves. We forgot to turn back into looking human again, and frightened the crap out of the dude behind the cash register. What a winnie, he took one look at us and pissed his pants right before he fainted. Man was that cool!
Dude, I miss London."

"Well love, London misses you. Which is why I am here. Why do you insist on interacting with the masses. Really love, sometimes I do wonder about you. And what is this I hear that your teaching sword? What the fuck is that about?
I know it's not about the money, that I know for a fact you have plenty money. My guess is that you enjoy toying with humans. Well darling, have you forgotten about Mussolini? "

LeAnna glared at Duncan like a ten year old little girl.

"He was an asshole and he cheated on me. I caught him with that bitch so I hung him along with her on the balcony so everyone could see. How the fuck was I suppose to know history was going to bullshit the world into thinking the people had hung him. Dam it, I'm still pissed about that."

Duncan saw the tears of blood streaming down her pale cheeks. He pulled her into his arms, as she cried into his shoulder.

"There there, my love. Now see what you have done? You've gotten yourself into a tiss
over a little nothing." He whispered.

"Besides" Duncan pulling her off his shoulders and kissing her tears.

"Why would you allow yourself to fall in love with a jerk like Mussolini? He was bad egg from the start. No pun intended."

"None taken." she softy said.

"Besides, love. He had no fashion sense. Unlike myself." Duncan swung around and posed as if he was a fashion model.

LeAnna suddenly perked up and smiled. "Oh Duncan I do love you so."

She knew this was a human trait, but she didn't care. Perhaps this was what distinguished her from the rest of the clan, the need to love and the respect she had for humanity.
Perhaps, it was this trait that made her a legend among so many vampires that had survived throughout the ages.
It was a trait that other vampires envied, yet this little thing called love made her a shining beacon among the living dead. It was something that vampires rarely experienced after death. The empathy and willingness to help others made her what the vampires would end up calling her: "The Angel of Darkness."

Duncan grabbed her and cupped his hands under her chin.

"You my love, are a naughty dark angel. I have a good mind to take you over my knees and give you a good spanking."

Her dark eyes weaved a wicked charm that not even the great Duncan could escape.

"You promise to spank me?" Her little girl giggle was hard to resist. Her red lips curled into a sweet smile.

"Only if you promise to return the favor. But oh dear, what are we to do with what's his name."

"Oh Yeah. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?"

Dream dark sweet dreams, my pretties.
