It is something that has ruled from the dawn of time..for short periods peace was seen. But overall you are correct, it is something that raises its head, as we are all very territorial and set in our thoughts, beliefs and structures.

The thought of someone telling us how to live our lives differently is enough to get the hackles up so to speak..*soft smile* and send us into a frenzy for dominance.

What saddens me about it though is we spend so much time in that frame of mind that we set ourselves back in actually accomplishing what we could by putting it into better weaponry, warfare tactics, and ways of maneuvering ourselves into a power structure or base of power. We all feel it, perceive it..but the cost..is it always worth it?

Look at Alexander the Great...a very intelligent man..very tactical..he made sure his people were educated. Constantly sought knowledge..

This is a man I have always admired from history...and yet he fell due to illness..such a waste of a good man. A man who cared about his people and where they were heading. And yet even he was one who conquered.
