My Family Update

Hi all, I just wanted to first thank everyone for your prayers for the safety of my family during the storm but would like you all to focus your prayers on all of the unfortunate people who have really suffered. We are doing great here, we finally got our power back Thursday night and spent yesterday unpacking our things and cleaning out the fridge and then going to Walmart to resupply our house, we were able to save our frozen food but lost everything else in the fridge. But everything is very calm here in our Parish, the people that are here at the shelters around us are people that were able to flee New Orleans before the storm so they are not going as crazy as some of the others in Baton Rouge. Everyone here seems to be very grateful for all of the help and support that our parish is offering them. Hannah and I are getting together some things..toys, hygiene products and clothes that we can take to Lamar Dixon to donate to the people there. Hannah will be starting school back on Tues, Mon is a holiday so they were already out that day. My biggest thing is that I want to assure you all that we are safe where we are right now and there is no need for alot of concern, Travis is comfortable with us staying here for now...he assures me that at the first sign of things starting to get out of control in our area that he WILL get us home. I again am so thankful for everyones concern and that includes all of you on Azure Way. We are thankful for all of the support and prayers that everyone has sent my way but we are doing wonderful so please focus all of that energy and prayers to the people who honestly need it right now and thats the people who no longer have homes, who are starving and dying waiting for help and for all of the people who have lost loved ones during this tragedy. We love each and every one of you and I will try to get on here daily to post how things are going. Travis wanted me to add on here to be cautious on believing the things you hear on the national news, they tend to sometimes blow things out of proportion, we having been keeping up with Fox News and our local news stations and we are seeing a difference in what is being reported. I mean most of what you are seeing is true but the manner that its being presented in blows the situation out of hand. Again we love you all and please stop making yourselves sick with worry, I know that you are going to worry and thats fine, but its ok to tone it down a bit..:0)
