Doris' husband Bill "Griff", Larry Wallace,Henry Deer, and I worked together for several years. Griff passed away a long time ago. Miss Doris was a genuinely good lady. She attended most of the Natchez Pioneer lunches. She will be missed.

NATCHEZ-Graveside services

for Doris Ann Griffin, 77, of

Natchez, who died Tuesday,

March 28, 2006, in Natchez, will

be at noon Thursday at

Greenlawn Memorial Park with

the Rev. Richard Cullum

officiating.

Burial will follow under the

direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.

until service time Thursday at

the Laird Funeral Home Union

Street Chapel.

Mrs. Griffin was born Aug. 20,

1928, in Pennington Gap, Va.,

the daughter of William Thomas

and Rose Alice Wells Province.

She was a member of Bell

South Pioneers of America.

She was preceded in death by

her parents; her husband, Billey

Gene Griffin; a brother, James

Province; sisters, Thelma Seals,

Alma Robbins, Ruth Wyatt,

Willie Eileen Campbell and

Peggy Camera.

She is survived by her daughter,

Deborah Griffin Evans of Vidalia;

two granddaughters, Sarah

Evans Krevolin of Natchez and

Jennifer Evans of Natchez; two

great-grandsons, Daniel Ethan

Stroud and Jack Spencer

Krevolin; two sisters, Violet Kirk

of Virginia and Evelyn Gonfotti of

North Carolina; a brother,

Charles Province of Virginia and

a number of nieces and

nephews.

Pallbearers will be Andrew

Krevolin, Robert C. Dossett,

Terry Saunders, Mike O'Neal,

Kenneth Case and Larry

Wallace.
