Subject: Sad...

When I was about 10 – 12 years of age, I was in the boy scouts. We were at camp at a Lake that my aunts own a cottage. The camp was across the lake. We were out hiking. I have short legs. Keeping up with the others was so difficult. I would walk alone, way back. I found a branch stick just the right length as a hiking stick. I caught up to the others quickly. I was up with them for a second when the scout master turned to look back and about to finish saying, “If you can’t keep up with…” when I said, “I am right here.” Even at that young age and earlier I had my feeling shut down. Being left behind and ostracized was already nothing new for me. But after years of therapy and working on myself, my feelings are active. Being left behind hurts.

But, I will go on; I have another 20 or so years left to not dwell on such. Hurt feelings are just that hurt feelings… if I choose not to dwell on them moment in, moment out… then I don’t suffer.
